TEFIN (“TEFIN”, “we”, “us”) provides digital banking, lending, trusteeship and security platforms to banks and financial institutions. This policy explains how we handle personal data through this website, tefin.ai. It is written with regard to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers visitors to this website and people who contact us through it. It does not cover the personal data of a bank's customers processed on our platforms. There, the bank decides why and how that data is processed, and we act on its instructions under our contract with the bank. Customers should read their bank's privacy notice and contact the bank directly.

2. Data we collect

  • What you send us. The demo form on this site prepares an email in your own email app. If you send it, we receive your name, institution, work email, the platform you are interested in, and your message. The form does not store anything on this website.
  • Technical data. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and time of request, for security and reliability.

This site does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. We will update this policy before that changes.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a demo you asked for.
  • To manage our relationship with existing and prospective institutional clients.
  • To keep this website secure and working.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We rely on your consent, including where you voluntarily send us your details for a stated purpose, and on the other legitimate uses the DPDP Act permits. We do not sell personal data.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who help us run this website and our communications, such as hosting and email providers, under suitable obligations of confidentiality and security, and with authorities where the law requires it. Some providers may process data outside India, subject to any restrictions notified under the DPDP Act.

5. How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting relationship, and then erase it unless the law requires us to retain it.

6. Security

We apply reasonable security safeguards to protect personal data, in line with our information security practice. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected individuals as the DPDP Act requires.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, you may:

  • ask for a summary of your personal data and how it is processed;
  • ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it;
  • withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect processing done before withdrawal;
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity;
  • have a grievance addressed by us, and then approach the Data Protection Board of India if it is not resolved.

8. Children

This website is meant for financial institutions and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect their data.
